About our service
The Tenant Advice & Advocacy Service (TAAS) is a project of Near North Housing Service Inc, a not-for-profit organisation in Queensland.
Near North Housing Service Inc operates three TAAS (Tenant Advice & Advocacy Service) services. The first is known as Near North Tenant Advice & Advocacy Service and is located at Morayfield in the Moreton Bay Regional Council area approximately 40 minutes drive north of Brisbane.
The second is located in Zillmere, a northern suburb of Brisbane approximately 30 minutes from the city and our third office is located at Stafford which is approximately 20 minutes from the Brisbane CBD.
Near North Housing Service Inc is funded by the Ddepartmetn of Housing and Public Works with funding provided by the Federal Goverment to provide a range of services to private and public rental tenants.
The organisation also is commencing a range of other services in the new year which will include lifestyle support, bond cleaning and yard maintenance all with a view sustaining tenancies or preventing homelessness by allowing people to remain in their current housing.

How we can help you
The Tenant Advice and Advocacy Service can help you with a range of services. We have offices located at Morayfield, Stafford and Zillmere and service the Moreton Bay Regional Council area and over 50 suburbs on the northside of Brisbane.
Some of the ways we assist are:
Advice for residential tenants and residents of rooming accommodation facilities; Tenancy Information; We can advocate for tenants where appropriate.
We provide housing information and can assist you with applications for Social and Community Housing as well as provide assistance to apply for housing under the National Rental Affordability Scheme if you qualify.
Our fully trained staff can assist you with information on taking tenancy matters to QCAT (Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal) and where appropriate will glady assist you to prepare your case for the Tribunal.
We provide community and tenant education sessions as well as our Skills for Renting program.
